Bethany House Academy Programs
Pre-school Programs
Our high achieving Pre-school Program has moved to the Northview Heights community. Since 1962, we have produced children that not only excelled in the classroom after graduating from our program but they also have demonstrated a strong sense of community and social responsibility.
After School Programs
Bethany House offers after-school programs that serve children and youth (ages 3-18) in Northview Heights. With approximately 120 children enrolled in services at any given time, all children receive on-going developmental screenings, assessments, and an Individual Education Plan.
Youth Services

Bethany House currently offers two youth programs: (1) The P.0.W.E.R. (Positive Outcomes With Excuses Removed) Program, that provides prevention, early intervention, and character development services for children and youth (ages 6-18) and (2) the Community Organic Garden and Café that teaches self-sufficiency and entrepreneurial skills. The youth programs provide culturally based after-school and weekend programming that includes self-awareness, tutoring, social, and health and wellness activities that help children recognize their individual and collective greatness.
Thanks to a grant from The Heinz Endowments, Bethany House is providing necessary Rites of Passage programming to young men living in Northview Heights and McKeesport. We are hoping to provide the working model for this process that is African-centered in focus and design.
